A+E Networks brings a lineup of stars at MIPCOM

A+E Networks has set the stage for a commanding presence at MIPCOM 2016 with a lineup of talent from some of its strongest new and returning programs, and a newly designed exhibit booth to present over 650 hours of new programming, it was announced by Sean Cohan, President, International & Digital Media.

A+E Networks is bringing Six stars Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight, Django) and Barry Sloane (Revenge, Noah); Knightfall star Tom Cullen (Downton Abbey); UnReal headliners Shiri Appleby (Girls) and Constance Zimmer (House of Cards, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.); and Pawn Stars boss Rick Harrison.

The new booth, created by top UK brand experience agency, 2Heads, features an interactive central hub, a multi-functional double-sided terrace lounge, and a series of meeting hubs – all designed to invite MIPCOM clients into the A+E creative process, culture and collaboration at Stand Number: P3.C10.

‘Our top talent, along with a spectacular new booth and winning sales team will all come together in Cannes to create a presence at MIPCOM that demonstrates the power of our brands and an ever-growing catalogue,’ said Cohan.

Headlining the slate is military action drama Six (8x60’), starring Walton Goggins and Barry Sloane. Inspired by the real missions of Seal Team Six, best known for killing Osama Bin Laden, Six is the story of a brotherhood of an elite Special Forces unit. While middle ages drama, Knightfall (10x60’), stars Tom Cullen in an epic drama series that chronicles the actual events surrounding The Knights Templar, one of the most powerful entities in history.

A+E Networks also keeps pushing hit scripted series like UnReal, starring Shiri Appleby and Constance Zimmer, which will now be available as a primetime one-hour format. Set against the backdrop of a fictional reality dating show, it explores behind-the-scenes dramedy and manipulation surrounding the TV production of Everlasting.

Highlighting the company’s factual offerings is the Emmy Award-winning series, Born This Way (16x60’), with 10 new episodes available to the global marketplace. In this groundbreaking series, cameras follow the lives of young men and women born with Down Syndrome. Parents talk about their joy and the challenges they face in helping them live independent lives. And new at MIPCOM is Girl In The Box (120’), a dark psychological drama based on the true story of Colleen Stan. Kidnapped by a young married couple, Colleen was kept imprisoned in a box underneath their bed for seven years. When not incarcerated, she became part of a strange new life as slave, child-minder and victim of S&M fantasies.

All-new TV movie, The Night Stalker (120’), stars Golden Globe nominee Lou Diamond Phillips (Longmire) and Critic’s Choice Award winner Bellamy Young (Scandal) in the story of an attorney who travels to San Quentin to clear a death row inmate she believes has been wrongly accused of murders actually perpetrated by “Night Stalker” Ramirez.

Lastly, Witness for the Prosecution (120’) is a major adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic title. 1920s London. A murder, brutal and bloodthirsty, has stained the plush carpets of a handsome London townhouse. The victim is the glamorous and rich Emily French (Kim Cattrall).
