ORF: sales on Europe, Asia, Middle East and Latin America
2012.10.19 | ORF-Enterprise, the commercial subsidiary of ORF, the leading Austrian broadcasters, closed strategic sales during Mipcom beginning with its fiction series, as well as new documentaries of ORF’s Universum-brand.
The company announced sales of all 36 episodes of the criminal TV-series Four Women and a Funeral to Fox Bulgaria and six episodes of season four to AXN, Sony Pictures Entertainment’s pay TV network for Eastern Europe. Also, 12 episodes of the latest season of top-selling series Fast Forward, which will be broadcast on DR TV (Danish Broadcasting).
SPI International picked up a 10-hour-package of the TV-movies Tatort for Eastern Europe. 65 hours of Nature and Wildlife were sold to Romania and Hungary to RCS-RDS, which is the first tranche of an output deal comprising our whole documentary catalog. NatGEO has picked up Danube – Europe’s Amazon, while RAI Italy and TVE Spain acquired UNIVERSUM-documentary packages.
‘We are proud to announce that our cooperation with NHK Japan continues: the Japanese public broadcaster will air our environmental documentary Gas Monopoly and is interested in buying our brand-new documentary Ships of the Desert from the UNIVERSUM-strand’, explains Marion Camus-Oberdorfer, head of content sales.
TV UNAM Mexico bought the latest episode of Musically-Culinary, Gioacchino Rossini – The Swan of Pesaro” along with the whole 8 episode-series and will also air a package of i-programs, amongst them Radioactive Wolves, Alpine Meltdown and Mystery of the Fairy Circles.
Other programs from UNIVERSUM-strand also inspire the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), which buys Zambezi, Arlberg – The Hidden Paradise and Sea of Creepy Monsters.
