Power closes multi-region deal with Discovery
Independent UK producer/distributor Power has sold two wildlife documentaries to Discovery Communications Europe to be aired across the UK, Europe and other major territories on their Animal Planet Channel.The deal includes the sale of the award winning survival-themed documentary Saving Rhino Phila and comes hot on the heels of the recently announced sale of the same title to Discovery US for their Animal Planet channel.
The documentary charts the incredible survival story of a Rhino shot in the head multiple times by poachers. As part of the new deal Power sold Saving Rhino Phila to Discovery Communications Europe for pan-regional broadcast in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The sale also comprises the documentary special Predator's Playground, a thrilling look at the life and death struggles played out between predator and prey around a life-giving spring in Zimbabwe. Power sold the title to Discovery Communications Europe for the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The documentaries, produced by NHU Africa, will be broadcast on Animal Planet and between them will air in virtually all regions worldwide.
