Just J promotes Dominican Republic production services hub

2021 was the year Just J consolidated it’s Dominican Republic hub, with services including five Survivor productions in a joint deal with Banijay Nordics & Paprika. The company led by Julieta Camarda, attends MIPTV where it promotes this Hub in The Caribbean, where the company has been offering services for five different adaptations of Survivor, under a strategic deal with Banijay Nordics & Paprika.

Survivor Magyarorszag for RTL Klub Hungary, Selviytyjät Suomi for Finland, Robinson Ekspeditionen for TV3 Denmark, Robinsonekspedisjonen for TV3 Norway and Robinson for TV 4 Sweden were produced in more than 10 locations close to the beautiful village of “Las Terrenas” in the Samaná peninsula province in the northeast region of the country; a magical and stunning area with virgin beaches.

'We hosted over 400 crew members for over 200 days, making a massive multicultural team in a specially created bubble under strict Covid Protocol. Working 24/7, we gave life to these globally successful reality TV shows in three back-to-back periods, in blocks of 40 to 47 shooting days each. Our main goal was to give our clients the best creative solutions to enable them to concentrate on their main goal: creating the best content possible for their audiences', explained Julieta Camarda, CEO.

She continued: 'Within complex logistical planning, we delivered high standard requirements including locations; games and council construction; art department; customs; immigration and security teams among others. We have a solid administrative system which facilitates our commitment to benefit our client’s budget. We have exceeded clients’ expectations with regard to financial issues by generating savings in the production process'.

Republica Dominicana counts with several advantages to produce in the country. Apart from its amazing beaches and natural resources, it must be highlighted the Transferable Tax Credit (TTC) enables us to promote shooting and to attract foreign investment. “We have developed a system control to match operational information with our accounting system that allows us to generate directive reports to make informed decisions”, further explained Camarda. 

Camarca concluded: 'We have great plans for 2022 and 2023, including more services for Survivor and expanding our offer to other formats from the market’s big players like Fear Factor, I’m a Celebrity, Wipe Out, The Challenge, Love Island, Ex On The Beach, The Bachelor and more'.
