Insight TV, Spark Content and Kestrel Beer Team up to co-produce The Flying Kestrel
Insight TV, and content creator, Spark Content, along to Kestrel Beer today announced their collaboration on a new and exclusive brand-funded short form TV series and documentary film: The Flying Kestrel.To be broadcast from March 2021 across Insight TV’s linear and digital networks to over 315 million homes around the world, The Flying Kestrel is being broadcast as a 4x'11 short form series and 1x'44 documentary.
The series follows the epic journey of Nigel McNally CEO of Kestrel Beer, his son Joel and the Webster Race Engineering team, as they discover and daringly transform a dilapidated 1930s Riley Kestrel classic, into a land speed record challenger.
Beautifully restored, complete with its original 1935 wooden body, steering wheel and mahogany dashboard, the Flying Kestrel has been boosted with a precision race turbo 2.5 litre, 5-cylinder engine capable of 900bhp.
'The Flying Kestrel’s story of “blood, sweat and beers” unfolds with every episode and reveals the twists and turns both car and crew take in their quest to realize their dreams', explained Arun Maljaars, Insight TV’s Vice President of Content and Channels.
'The car was officially unveiled at its first official test day in June 2020 and then went on to make its first record attempts two months later. The series features some twists and turns and reaches a dramatic finale as The Flying Kestrel reaches speeds over 160mph. Viewers are advised to fasten their seatbelts for an incredible ride!' said Nigel McNally, CEO of Kestrel Beer.
Co-producer Marc Hayward, CEO of Spark Content explained, 'The Flying Kestrel story has been a fantastic production to work on. What started as a bit of an intriguing and fun marketing idea soon turned into a serious passion project and one that has had its fair share of bumps, bruises and serious dramas along the way'.
