01-07-2022
With the 2022 market wrap up, NATPE has already confirmed Budapest International next edition, to talk place on June 27-29, 2023. The Association remarked the positive return to the “in-person” events, after NATPE Miami 2022 was canceled.

JP Bommel, President and CEO of NATPE: ‘We have experienced a very energized and dynamic event here in Budapest. It has been especially gratifying to see so many CEE-based buyers and sellers, broadcasters and distributors together in one spot to network and conduct a raft of deals with international companies’.

He added: ‘As we welcomed newcomers and past participants showcasing a plethora of new content, we now look forward to taking this enthusiasm for content, connectivity and dealmaking to our flagship event NATPE Global 2023 in January 2023 at Baha Mar, Nassau’.

‘Distributors and producers from more than 80 countries wrapped up three days of great business and signed distribution deals across the entire region’, completed Bommel. There were +350 buyers and 200 exhibitors, distributed in suites at the hotel and meeting tables.

Again, US Studios were present in Budapest to screen their content fresh from the LA Screenings: Paramount, NBCUniversal, Lionsgate and A+E Networks have had a high level of attendance, comparable to the last in-person NATPE Budapest international in 2019. Ukraine and Finish’s Yle were also among the countries holding screenings.

NATPE Budapest International also hosted several international Pavilions at Budapest’s International Hotel, including the ICEX Spanish Pavilion, headed by Erno Palla Sagüés, Attaché of the Commercial Attaché of the Spanish Embassy in Budapest; the Türkiye Pavilion supported by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and headed by Dr. Israfil Kuralay, VP, as well as Ukraine’s #StandWithUkraine through Katya Udut, CEO, MRM, organizer of the space.

The popular Pitch & Play Live! competition awarded an Ukrainian winner, StarLightMedia’ Supergranma. The event, co-organized for the seventh time with the regional publication CEETV, highlights the top CEE formats’ creators with international potential.

In true NATPE tradition, the three-day event was packed with parties and networking receptions, culminating with a red carpet evening event for all participants, sponsored by Kanal D International at Budapest hot spot Ötkert Night Club, featuring talent from the company leading drama series Three Sisters.
