AGE names Spiral International as sales representative for Latin America

Spiral International, subsidiary of Etcetera Group, has entered into an exclusive representation agreement with the intellectual property and outbound licensing division of American Greetings Corporation, American Greetings Entertainment, for the launch of its series in Latin America.

Director Zasha Robles, will spearhead AGE’s content into Latin America, guiding the formation of collaborative partnerships to ensure content relevance and appeal. Spiral International’s activities will be under the direct supervision of Karen Vermeulen, Head of global sales & co-production for AGE.

‘Latin America is a top priority for AGE’s international expansion and we believe our content, will fill a vital niche in the Latin American marketplace overall,’ said Vermeulen, and added: ‘Spiral’s knowledge of the local, regional and national media platforms throughout Latin America, as well as their vast experience and long-standing relationships with broadcasters, cable networks, digital and other new media resources will be extremely beneficial in guiding our selection of local and regional partners that share our vision for launching our new content and building on our portfolio of children’s media content in the region.’

Among AGE’s content portfolio to be represented by Spiral International it stands Care Bears, which for almost 35 years has been one of the world’s most popular and endearing children’s properties. Today fans of all ages are falling in love with these huggable bears whose wholesome messages of caring and sharing resonate with parents who are familiar with the brand and feel comfortable introducing Care Bears to their children. The newest of the series, Care Bears & Cousins, launched in fall 2015 as a Netflix Original Series. And Holly Hobbie Specials, which follows the adventures of the 10 year-old, bright, optimistic and creative girl from the big city who sometimes adventures out to the countryside of Clover, home to her best friends and favorite relatives.

Madballs, originally introduced in 1986, and was an instant hit quickly expanding into other product categories including comics, home video and video games. Today, more than 90 characters exist for Madballs with names like Bash Brain, Slobulus and Zit Wit-with a new line of consumer products to launch in early 2017 to gross-out a whole new generation.

Based on the hugely successful series of children’s books by Alex T. Smith, Claude is a charming and, above all, funny animated preschool series with a hero that everybody will love. 50x11’ animated stories, plus 11x2’ shorts for boys and girls ages 4 to 7.

Lastly are What happens when wishes are made?, where Maryoku Yummy inspires girls to reach for the stars and believe in themselves, and TinPo, an interstitial series of 30-second shorts that encourages viewers of all ages to think out of the box.
