COL Group expands into EdTech with Lingopie partnership and microdrama co-productions

10-09-2026
COL Group and Lingopie have launched DramaRizz, a language-learning application built around vertical short-form drama. This release coincides with a new partnership between COL Group and Lingopie Studios to co-produce 10 original microdrama titles.

The platform integrates the learning experience directly into one-minute episodes. DramaRizz offers subtitles in both languages, adjustable playback speeds, and a feature that allows learners to tap any unfamiliar word for an instant translation. Saved words can later be reviewed as personalized flashcards that include the original scene for visual and narrative context. The service utilizes the serial mechanics of microdramas, including story hooks and cliffhangers, to maintain user engagement and prolonged exposure to the target language.

At launch, DramaRizz supports English, Spanish, Chinese, French, German, and Italian. The app features approximately 30 titles per language, incorporating content from COL Group's FlareFlow library. Featured series available on the platform include Daddy, Save Me, Billionaire Daddy, the Hunt is On!, and Never Too Late to Love You.

Timothy Oh, General Manager of COL Group International and CMO of FlareFlow, noted that the collaboration applies the microdrama format to a completely different user behavior. ‘The very things that make microdramas compelling, from short episodes and strong hooks to characters audiences want to keep following, can also encourage people to spend more time listening to and engaging with another language’, Oh stated.

The partnership extends into original production through Lingopie Studios, an AI-native production house. The studio will co-produce 10 new vertical titles with COL Group, utilizing a production model designed to take projects from concept to finished 9:16 episodes within a matter of weeks.

‘We're excited to partner with COL Group as we launch DramaRizz, the world's first vertical micro-drama app for language learners and help shape the future of language learning through micro-dramas’, said David Datny, CEO of Lingopie.
