Calinos Entertainment at MIPCOM 2026: global distribution strategy and new titles at an exclusive gala
Set against the picturesque backdrop of Lucia Beach in Cannes, Calinos Entertainment hosted an exclusive VIP gala during MIPCOM 2026, gathering international buyers, industry partners, and foreign press. While the evening featured a highly anticipated slate of new Turkish content, the core of the presentation marked a historic strategic shift for the company: its official transition from a leading distributor of Turkish dramas into a truly global content hub.During the presentation, Calinos CEO Firat Gulgen took the stage to unveil the company’s latest premium offerings. He proudly introduced three outstanding Turkish limited series: Between the World and Us (produced by MF Yapım), Runaway (Same Film and O3 Medya), and The Choice (OGM Pictures). These premium titles were joined by Violet, a new daily drama from Limon Yapım scheduled to premiere on Show TV in November.
Gulgen also took a moment to celebrate the exceptional trajectory of the hit franchise Deeply. Highlighting its transformation from a distinctive series into a multi-season phenomenon, he confirmed that following a successful sequel, a third season arrived last year, with a fourth already in production. ‘We are particularly excited that next year we will be presenting both the third and fourth season together, with the series set to reach audiences on HBO Max Turkey’, he noted, praising the property as a prime example of a story continuing to evolve and build lasting viewer connections.
However, the most significant announcement of the night was the company’s aggressive international expansion. Acknowledging that Calinos has spent the past several years steadily broadening its catalog with productions from Canada, Poland, Serbia, Romania, and the Middle East, Gulgen announced major new acquisitions that solidify this global vision. This year, the distributor added 12 series from Latin America’s TIS Production, the Argentine project Tafí Viejo from Corazon Films, and a slate of compelling Romanian series from Antena, including Ana: You are in my DNA and Love with Lavender Scent (from Dream Film Production).
‘These partnerships represent much more than an expansion of our catalogue; they represent an expansion of our vision’, Gulgen passionately told the audience. ‘Today, our ambition is no longer simply to take Turkish stories to the world. Our ambition is to bring the world’s best story to the world. Wherever a great story is created, whatever language it is told in, and whatever culture it comes from, we want to help it find the audience it deserves’.
He emphasized that Calinos aims to serve as a bridge between creative talent and global opportunities, asserting that the future of the industry is defined not by where a story originates, but by how far it can travel and connect with people.
