Canal+ acquires two Israeli docs from The Ripple Effect
Israeli docuseries land across French-speaking territories. The Ripple Effect has closed a two-title agreement with Canal+ Group, licensing a pair of Israeli documentary series for all French-speaking territories. Both projects were produced by Beyond Creative and originally aired on Kan 11.
The four-part investigative series Meshi Zahav (4×50’) was picked up by Planète+ Crime. Directed by Sharon Yaish, the docuseries revisits the public rise and private downfall of Yehuda Meshi-Zahav, founder of the volunteer rescue group ZAKA, exposing longstanding allegations of sexual abuse that contradicted his carefully built public image. The title is also available on Netflix Israel.
Meanwhile, Gaza Syndrome (3×50’) heads to Planète+. Directed by Hila Izhaki and Duby Kroitoru, the historical series explores the political decisions and flashpoints that shaped the Gaza Strip from 1948 through the Hamas-led attacks of October 7, 2023. Built on rare archives and first-hand testimonies, the project brings together voices from across Israel, Palestine, Egypt and the US.
The deal reinforces The Ripple Effect’s role as a boutique bridge between local storytellers and global platforms, spanning development, financing and international distribution.
