DCB: new distributor to link Europe with Asia-Pacific

27-11-2012
Based in Singapore, DCB Consulting is the new company launched by former sales chief of Novovision (France) executive Nathalie Nennig, which is specialized in acquisition, distribution and marketing of contents between Europe and Asia-Pacific.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the international TV distribution business, the executive is launching DCB Consulting on Asia TV Forum next week to respond to the ‘outstanding dynamism’ of the Asian market. She remarks: ‘The aim is to facilitate two-way relationships between the best French and European producers/creators with executives in the Asia-Pacific TV industry. It will help Western producers who are seeking original programming from the region to adapt in their own country’.

‘From Singapore is very easy to reach out to the whole region. I want to remain a boutique distribution company, working closely with my partners and my clients. I will also have a particular focus on entertainment programming and formats’. The catalogue is composed of 35 shows, 90% of which are formats, covering all genres of entertainment for all audiences, as well as some documentaries.

Among the highlights are Beauty and the Beat, a prime-time talent show format (8x’52) developed by US producer Imagine Productions International, with distribution rights for Asia and Middle East. Presented at MIPFormat 2012, the show is currently in production to be broadcast in prime time by the Dutch state television.

Nennig has signed deals to represent French companies ADLTV (eight 26’ documentaries entitled Ambassadors’ Cuisine), Ah!Production (three formats, including Battle Pass, a brand new game show in which two children aged 8-12 take each other on in a series of zany challenges in the middle of a funfair), Pernel Media (The Ugly Me and My Fridge Told Me) and Quadra Film Coalition (two lifestyle and wildlife documentaries, Back to Where It All Started: A Turtle’s Tale and It’s Colder Outside then Inside).

The new distributor has also forged partnerships with The New Flemish Primitives, the leading Belgian company for entertainment programming. Nennig will represent a string of formats which are all huge hits on major networks in Belgium, the Netherlands and Scandinavia, such as Eternal Glory, a brand new reality format revolving around sport, The Viewer of the Year, which has already been adapted for France 2, The Bounty Hunter, Tour Deluxe, and A Dish A Day.

DCB has also acquired rights to five series of clip shows comprised of the world’s most amazing ads (30 clips per episode), already broadcast widely in Europe and Latin America, from Dicon Media, the Munich-based specialist in international TV and movie rights distribution. All these shows will be available on it website (www.dcb-tv.com) by the end of December.
