05-05-2020
Eccho Rights sings up the exclusive worldwide distribution rights to the hit Turkish series My Home My Destiny (Doğduğun Ev Kaderindir), produced by OGM Pictures for TV8.

Starring Demet Özdemir (Daydreamer) and İbrahim Çelikkol (Price of Passion), the production has already received very good ratings and a large following in the domestic market. The series has already been confirmed for a second season due to the great result on TV8. The producer is Onur Güvenatam, who has been behind cutting-edge series like The Gift and The Protector, both Netflix's Turkish originals, as well as Wounded Love (Kanal D) and A Part of Me (Star TV).

Through Eccho Rights it will seek to penetrate various international markets. The distributor promotes a digital event for the presentation of the series. It will be Thursday May 7 at 5pm (CET) on Zoom and will feature producer Güvenatam, main actors Özdemir and Çelikkol, and Fredrik af Malmborg, managing director of the company, moderated by Fabricio Ferrara, of Prensario

The series follows a woman, who was born into a poor family and has few opportunities in life. His father is an alcoholic, his mother weak, and his brother dies due to lack of medical treatment. His fortune changes when the family that employs his mother as a cleaning lady offers to adopt the young woman. Her parents agree in hopes of giving her daughter a better life. She will learn, be loved, and be surrounded by beautiful things; but she always carries a feeling of non-belonging. Poor and innocent, she becomes an intelligent, educated and beautiful young woman, committed to marrying a dream man from high society.

However, this fairy tale will have a shocking ending when her biological mother appears, seeking to regain control of her daughter's life and bring her back to the home where she was born. Dragged back to a world she had left behind, this is not life as she knows it, but her return home is full of lessons and surprises, and a reunion of hearts has the potential to change everything.

‘We are very happy to bring this exceptional series to the international public. Although the love story is essential, the protagonist's journey touches on many very important issues such as the concept of belonging, identity and home that will resonate throughout the world', said Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama at Eccho Rights.
