Fred Media restructures international distribution department to establish regional consultant network

03-06-2026
The Australian content distribution company, part of the WTFN Group, has reorganized its commercial operations by appointing local sales executives in European markets. The new corporate structure transitions from centralized management to localized distribution strategies effective June 1.

Television distribution company Fred Media formalized a comprehensive restructuring of its international sales division. The operational shift is designed to align the company's multi-platform content library with current demand across linear networks, subscription video services, and digital broadcasting platforms through a network of regional consultants located directly within key global territories.

The corporate realignment is overseen by Derek Dyson, Chief Commercial Officer of the WTFN Group, who manages the commercial integration of Fred Media and its sister digital agency Radar.

In-market appointments and territorial expansion
The new organizational chart establishes dedicated territorial responsibilities assigned to experienced media executives, divided under the following operational zones:

Western Europe and Mediterranean: Charo Penedo joins the team from a base in Madrid, Spain, to manage content licensing across Spain, Portugal, France, Benelux, Italy, Greece, and Turkey. Penedo previously held distribution roles at Warner Bros., Discovery, and Cineflix.

Central Europe, Nordics, and CEE: Malgorzata Gudel takes charge of sales in Germany, Central and Eastern Europe, and the Nordic countries from an office in Warsaw, Poland. Her professional background includes acquisition and sales positions at PRO5 Media, The Story Lab, Lagardère Studios, and Polish public broadcaster TVP.

English-Speaking Markets and Asia-Pacific: North American sales consultant Judy Levenson expands her current distribution brief to incorporate the United Kingdom and Ireland. In parallel, recent hire Jamie I manages sales operations for Australia, New Zealand, and the Asian market from the corporate headquarters in Melbourne.

Executive brief and content partnership integration
As part of the commercial overhaul, former Beyond Rights Chief Executive Officer Kate Llewellyn-Jones has expanded her long-term consultancy contract with the Australian group. Under her updated mandate, Llewellyn-Jones is responsible for directing the distribution strategy of the new sales group, setting commercial goals, and designing co-production and content financing partnerships.

Her role aims to synchronize the output of Fred Media with the technical and audience capabilities of Radar, executing the company's "Total Distribution" corporate strategy. Derek Dyson stated that the physical distance between Australia and expanding television markets required the deployment of regional specialists capable of making swift licensing decisions within shifting broadcasting environments.
