Globo celebrates centennial at NEM Dubrovnik, showcasing global strategy

Brazilian media company Globo marked its centennial at NEM Dubrovnik with a special showcase titled 'Globo: 100 Years of Stories'. The presentation, hosted by Rodrigo Nascimento, Globo’s Head of International Business for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Nascimento provided an overview of Globo‘s history, noting its beginnings in 1925 with a newspaper launch. The company later expanded into radio before entering television in 1965. Currently, Globo operates in free-to-air and pay-TV broadcasting, and is also involved in the global streaming market. The year 2025 also marks the 10th anniversary of Globoplay, brand’s streaming service, which has been expanding its international presence and content partnerships. 6

The executive commented on Globo‘s mission, stating, ‘We feel great joy and a deep privilege in telling stories for the world. Our goal is simple but powerful: to bring happiness to people’.

The showcase at the market highlighted Globo’s content portfolio and global objectives. Series mentioned included The Clone and Brazil Avenue. A new title is the telenovela Anything Goes (100x1h), a reboot of Vale Tudo (1988-1989). Nascimento indicated that company offers a catalog of telenovelas, scripted formats, and entertainment.
