Glookast launches Cinnafilm Tachyon Plugin for Professional Video Processing

21-04-2026
Powered by the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070’s Blackwell architecture, the new optional plugin delivers professional standards conversion, frame rate conversion, and AI-enhanced quality optimized for both live and file-based production.

Glookast, a leader in intelligent workflow automation for the media and entertainment industry, today announced the release of the Cinnafilm Tachyon Plugin for Media Producer and Media Services. Debuting at NAB Show 2026, this premium add-on integrates Cinnafilm’s industry-standard Tachyon LIVE video processing engine directly into Glookast workflows, providing high-performance standards conversion and de-interlacing without the need for external hardware.

The plugin leverages the advanced capabilities of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, built on the newly released Blackwell architecture. This hardware integration allows for real-time, broadcast-quality processing with intelligent optimization modes. The system automatically adapts its processing behavior based on the context: prioritizing speed and low latency for live production, or maximizing output quality and detail preservation for file-based post-production environments.

'Broadcasting has always demanded perfection, but the industry has too often been forced to choose between workflow efficiency and image quality', said Matt Silva, CEO of Glookast. 'Glookast brings best-of-breed workflow intelligence, and Cinnafilm brings best-of-breed image processing in Tachyon. When you combine those two without compromise, you get a pipeline that's as smart as it is pristine'.

Technical Advancements via NVIDIA Blackwell
The use of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 (GB205) represents a significant leap in compute throughput. Key specifications of the integration include:

6,144 CUDA Cores: Enabling simultaneous parallel processing across multiple active video channels.

12 GB GDDR7 Memory: Providing the high-bandwidth access required for real-time multi-stream processing at HD, 2K, and 4K resolutions.

5th Generation Tensor Cores: Accelerating Tachyon’s AI-driven motion analysis and detail enhancement.

The Blackwell architecture’s GDDR7 memory subsystem effectively eliminates the latency penalties that historically limited GPU-based broadcast pipelines. This ensures that motion-compensated detail preservation—a hallmark of the Tachyon engine—can now be executed in real time within the Glookast workflow, rather than as a time-consuming offline process.
