GoQuest Media: Arafta heads to Season 2 after global breakout

28-04-2026
GoQuest Media and Rains Pictures double down on YouTube-first strategy following strong international traction.

GoQuest Media and Rains Pictures have officially greenlit a second season of Arafta, capitalizing on the remarkable performance of its debut run across digital and international markets. The Turkish drama, which launched in November 2025 with a YouTube-first strategy, quickly built momentum, reaching more than 850 million views and securing licensing deals in 19 territories.

Season 2, already in production, will consist of 100 episodes and continue the story of Mercan and Ateş, deepening the emotional themes of love, revenge and fate that drove the show’s early success. Lead actors İlsu Demirci and Emin Günenç are set to return.

The series has also proven its appeal beyond digital, with partners such as Amazon MX Player in India, Kanal 7 in Turkey and Vidio in Indonesia, alongside additional sales across Europe. Notably, many deals were closed after the show’s online release, highlighting how its digital performance boosted international demand.

The first season wrapped on April 17 with a global simulcast finale that drew over 100,000 concurrent viewers, further underscoring its fan engagement. Across five language-specific YouTube channels, the show has surpassed 2.5 million subscribers.

Executives at GoQuest Media emphasized that the YouTube-first model is not competing with traditional licensing, but rather enhancing it by building audience awareness in advance. With Season 2, the companies aim to expand Arafta as a globally recognized brand while continuing to leverage its hybrid distribution strategy.
