GoldBee secures first sales for Burps, Butts and Bones
ABC Australia and HK Television acquire the comedy-driven kids’ factual series produced by Sphere Media.Barcelona-based distributor GoldBee has closed the first international deals for the new kids’ factual series Burps, Butts and Bones (26 x 11’), with broadcasters in Australia and Asia picking up the title ahead of its wider global rollout.
ABC Australia has acquired exclusive free-to-air and free streaming rights for the series for its ABC Kids channel and digital platforms, where the show is set to premiere this month. Meanwhile, HK Television has licensed the series for Hong Kong and Macau, securing free-to-air and catch-up rights with a launch scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.
Produced by Toronto-based Sphere Media, Burps, Butts and Bones is a live-action and CG-animated edutainment series aimed at children aged five to nine. The show mixes humor and science to explore how the human body works, tackling the kinds of questions kids are often too shy to ask.
Each episode is hosted by Bones, a witty animated skeleton who runs a digital “bodcast” answering real questions from children. At the same time, a group of young reporters known as the B Squad investigates the episode’s topic through experiments, expert insights and real-world exploration.
GoldBee is also offering format rights for the series, allowing local producers to recreate the live-action segments with children from their own markets while incorporating the animated elements in local language versions. The company believes the flexible structure makes the show particularly well suited for international adaptations.
