Graphilm restores full independence after Cyber Group Studios liquidation

Graphilm Entertainment has officially regained full ownership of the company following the liquidation of Cyber Group Studios, marking a return to full independence for the Rome-based animation studio. The move consolidates Graphilm’s operational control and reinforces its long-term strategy focused on original IPs and international co-productions. 

As part of the process, Graphilm has also recovered Cyber Group Studios’ stake in the animated IP McFire Family, enabling the studio to continue production on Season 1 of the series, already commissioned by Rai Kids in Italy. At the same time, Graphilm has signed a new agreement with Rai Kids for the pre-acquisition of Season 2 of Nefertine on the Nile, while Rai Com has secured worldwide distribution rights for both seasons, positioning the title strongly in the global market. 

Season 2 of Nefertine on the Nile is being developed as a co-production between Graphilm (Italy) and CGS 3D (Tunisia), in collaboration with Rai Kids. The first season has already achieved broad international exposure, airing across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia on platforms and broadcasters including Rai YoYo, RaiPlay, Česká televize, RTP, Mediacorp, Canal+ Cha Tate, and Majid.

Producer Anna Lucia Pisanelli added that strategic alliances and shared values remain central to navigating global market challenges. 

Founded in 1988, Graphilm boasts a celebrated catalogue of award-winning animated and audiovisual works. With full ownership restored, the studio moves forward independently, combining a strong creative legacy with an active international pipeline that includes Nefertine on the Nile Season 2, McFire Family, and several upcoming projects yet to be announced.
