The event was held on January 8, in Seoul. This year’s recipients are (G)I-DLE, Chung Seo Kyung, Don Lee, IU, Kim Hye Soo, Lee Jin Ju, Lee Jung Jae, Nah Yung Suk, Park Chan Wook, and Park Eun Bin.

Since 2020, CJ ENM has been honoring the figures who propose a new vision in the entertainment industry with their originality as “visionaries”. Starting with ‘2023 Visionary,’ the ceremony is held at the beginning of the year to better build its purpose of shedding light on the future of the entertainment industry and inspiring individuals.

Miky Lee, Vice Chairwoman of CJ: ‘I am proud to be a Korean in a time when our narratives are touching the global audience. I congratulate the honorees of ‘2023 Visionary’ and send my deepest appreciation to the path you are paving’.

Koo Chang-gun, CEO of CJ ENM: ‘K-content has amassed a massive global fandom and is expanding its influence in a fast-changing environment. I believe that the power of K-entertainment comes from a person’s ‘originality’. CJ ENM will also keep looking out for the future of K-entertainment along side the Visionaries’.

(G)I-DLE (music group): We’ve received awards for the results that we’ve achieved, but I feel like the ‘Visionary’ awards acknowledge the process, so it’s a great honor.

Chung Seo Kyung: Visionary Awards honors the pioneers in the industry and those that propose visions. I can’t say with confidence that I’m a writer who deserves this award, but I will keep writing with the aim to create a piece of work that lives up to that expectation.

Don Lee (actor): It is my hope that the Visionary recipients gathered here will try their best to create entertaining content for the global audience that transcends language and boundaries.

Lee Jin Ju (producer): ‘EXchange’ is one of the best things that’s happened in my life.

Nah Yung Suk (producer): The last several years haven’t been easy, but I met some great friends last year with whom I worked with on “Earth Arcade.” I give credit to them. As films and drama series have done, it is my vision to expand unscripted reality entertainment content globally.

Park Eun Bin (actor): My sincere gratitude goes to CJ ENM and the hosts of the 'Visionary Awards' for giving me the opportunity to think about my originality.
