ITV Studios Expands Global Portfolio: Parents’ Evening Commissioned in Spain and Acquisition of Your Song
The Ranga Bee Productions format will be produced locally by ITV Studios Iberia for Atresmedia, while the company secures international distribution rights for the new Love Productions musical title.ITV Studios has confirmed the international expansion of the primetime celebrity game show ‘Parents’ Evening’ following a brand-new commission by Atresmedia in Spain. The Spanish adaptation of the format will be produced by ITV Studios Iberia.
This announcement coincides with the recommissioning of the series for a third season in the United Kingdom by ITV, consisting of six episodes and a Christmas special. In its second UK series, the format reached over two million viewers across all devices within seven days of broadcast, ranking among the top 10 best-performing game shows of 2025 on ITV1.
Created by Ranga Bee Productions—co-founded by Romesh Ranganathan—the show features Ranganathan and his mother, Shanthi, as hosts. The premise involves testing parents' knowledge regarding their children’s general knowledge, focusing on family dynamics and comedic elements.
Acquisition of ‘Your Song’
In addition to the Spanish commission, ITV Studios has announced the acquisition of ‘Your Song’, a new music entertainment format developed by Love Productions. The format is described as a celebration of amateur singers with personal narratives rather than a traditional talent competition.
The structure of ‘Your Song’ includes:
The Traveling Stage: Performers share songs with personal significance and discuss the underlying stories with the host.
Musical Mentors: Two established music industry figures select the participants who will proceed to the final stage.
Grand Final: A concluding concert designed to celebrate the performers’ journeys and the emotional connection of music.
Distribution and Production
Both ‘Parents’ Evening’ and ‘Your Song’ are part of the international distribution catalog of ITV Studios. The expansion into the Spanish market through Atresmedia represents a significant step in the global footprint of the Ranga Bee Productions format.
According to company statements, ‘Your Song’ focuses on authenticity and the relationship between music, memory, and personal courage, moving away from conventional fame-seeking performance structures.
