ITV Studios: Tim Carter appointed as Head of Unscripted UK

ITV Studios has named Tim Carter as Managing Director, Unscripted, UK, a major appointment set to take effect this summer. Carter, currently CEO of ITV Studios MultiStory Media and Twofour, will succeed Angela Jain and take charge of ITV Studios entire UK unscripted portfolio, comprising 11 production labels and a host of award-winning titles.

Reporting directly to Julian Bellamy, Managing Director of ITV Studios, Carter will also join the UK Management Team. He will hold full P&L responsibility, working closely with label MDs and the wider leadership team to drive the creative and commercial growth of the division.

ITV Studios unscripted labels produce some of the world’s most successful and beloved formats, including Love Island, The Chase, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Come Dine With Me, and 24 Hours in A&E. Upcoming projects include The Neighbourhood, Celebrity Sabotage, and Sharks! Celebrity Infested Waters!

Julian Bellamy praised Angela Jain’s contributions over eight years, calling her editorial leadership “sure-footed and creative.” He added, 'Tim’s track record makes him the natural successor. ITV Studios’ unscripted business is in excellent hands’.

Carter, who joined ITV Studios in 2017, previously led successful runs at MultiStory and Twofour. Reflecting on his new role, he said, ‘It’s an honour to take the reins. The depth of talent across our labels is extraordinary. I can’t wait to help shape the future of unscripted entertainment’.
