MIPCOM: CAKE and Mandai X partner on action-adventure series Ranger Buddies
CAKE has partnered with Singapore’s Mandai X, the venture-building and impact acceleration arm of Mandai Wildlife Group, to co-produce a brand-new animated action-adventure series titled Ranger Buddies.Produced by CAKE, the project extends Mandai X’s award-winning edutainment brand into long-form animation for the first time, ahead of its international market debut at MIPCOM.
Currently in production, the 26 x 11-minute series is aimed at preschoolers and early elementary audiences aged 4 to 6, and is slated to premiere locally in Singapore on public broadcaster Mediacorp. The series draws narrative inspiration from the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, home to world-renowned zoological destinations including Bird Paradise, Rainforest Wild Adventure, Night Safari, River Wonders, and the Singapore Zoo.
Set on the vibrant island of Mandaria, Ranger Buddies follows best friends Min and Al, two young explorers who leap into action whenever their community needs them while safeguarding the native wildlife. Through stories blending adventure, comedy, and discovery, the series celebrates teamwork, empathy, and environmental conservation, demonstrating how small, positive actions can create meaningful change for people and the planet.
