Mediawan’s Plan B Europe adds former Sony and House Productions execs to London team

01-04-2026
Plan B Europe, the London-based subsidiary of Plan B Entertainment and part of Mediawan since 2022, has expanded its executive team to support the development and production of projects across the United Kingdom and Europe. Headed by Ed Macdonald, the company appointed Maria Fleischer as executive producer and Charlie Silver as development producer.

Established in 2025, the European division serves to extend the premium film and television activities of its US parent company—co-led by Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner—into the international market. The London operation currently has multiple projects in paid development with buyers, prompting the recent expansion of its executive roster to manage the growing slate.

Addressing the appointments, Macdonald noted that Fleischer and Silver bring exceptional editorial instincts and key industry relationships as the company continues to scale its operations. Fleischer joins Plan B Europe from Sony Pictures Television International, where she served as vice president of original development, building a television slate for the internal studio. Her previous experience includes roles at Origin Pictures, Fox Searchlight, and DNA Films and TV. During her time as head of development at DNA, she focused on building a television slate under an FX overall deal, overseeing projects such as a series adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go.

Silver transitions to his new role as development producer after eight years at House Productions. During his tenure under Tessa Ross, he worked across both television and film slates, contributing to projects such as the BBC’s Sherwood and Disney+'s The Good Mothers. On the feature film side, his development credits include Andrea Arnold’s Bird and Danny Boyle’s Ink, which is currently in post-production. The additions to the team underscore Mediawan and Plan B's strategic focus on consolidating a strong European production footprint following recent high-profile parent company projects like F1 The Movie, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and Nickel Boys.
