PlayBox Neo drives innovative advancements for robust streaming workflow resilience at IBC 2026

PlayBox Neo shakes things up this IBC by revealing the latest advancements in its award-winning PlayBox Neo Suite and integrated range of media solutions at Stand 7.C29 from 11 – 14 September.

At IBC, to spice things up, PlayBox Neo presents a series of state-of-the-art enhancements designed to build better-connected and scalable multi-user and complex media environments with reinforced security. PlayBox Neo will shine a spotlight on how broadcasters and media organisations can operate more efficiently in the current hybrid environments across cloud, IP-based and on-premises workflows.

A noteworthy advancement for IBC includes the role-based user management system, allowing administrators to define access to specific functions and toolsets within the PlayBox Neo Suite platform. This additional feature helps improve security, accountability, and daily workflow transparency in demanding production settings where multiple users, editors, and engineers operate at the same time.

PlayBox Neo now also supports integration with Active Directory via LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) with SSL encryption which allows companies to manage user logins and permissions through their existing IT system, as opposed to maintaining separate credentials. The advantages include simplified user management, alignment with enterprise-level IT standards, and reinforced security which is crucial as broadcast operations become part of much larger corporate networks.

In time for IBC, a brand new streaming multiviewer UI has been implemented for built-in users support resulting in a much faster load time, with a preview window that can be resized for larger resolutions and high performance renders. Performance improvements include the optimisation of the PlayBox Neo Multiviewer reducing bandwidth usage to 30% which dramatically impacts teams working remotely in production or cloud scenarios, where bandwidth is limited or very expensive. By lowering data demands without compromising video quality, the system enables much more stable monitoring, faster response rates, and lower operational overheads.
