Radio Flyer Studios debuts first animated series Max & maple: The can-do kids
The original preschool show brings adventure and exploration to YouTube starting November 2, marking the studio's inaugural animated series release. For over 100 years, Radio Flyer has been inspiring adventures fueled by imagination, family, and fun. Today, that mission continues with Radio Flyer Studios’ Max & Maple: The Can-Do Kids. A brand-new exciting season of the animated series for 4-7-year-olds, brimming with the joy of childhood play, catchy music, and comedy for the whole family, is coming to YouTube starting November 2, 2026.
The series centers on dynamic sibling duo Max (an intrepid dog), his little sister Maple (a curious beaver), and their inventive outdoor adventures with their iconic red wagon and its magical little Wheelios. Many of their far-flung expeditions begin right in the yard behind their Grandpa Tony’s (a wise squirrel) Fix-It Shop – the ideal playground for exploring, learning, making mistakes, and getting into tons of “safe danger.” Max and Maple was developed in-house by Robert Pasin, Radio Flyer CEO and Chief Wagon Officer; Carrie Miller, Executive Producer and Head of Studio (Adventure Time, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!); and Deborah Frank, Executive Producer (Arthur, Work It Out Wombats!); along with Peter Hannan, Head Writer (CatDog, Let’s Go Luna!), with the aim of showing viewers they “can do” anything when they use their imaginations.
“When my grandpa Antonio founded Radio Flyer in 1917, he believed childhood should be about play and making memories together that last a lifetime – and that’s what Max & Maple: The Can-Do Kids is all about,” said Pasin. 'Our goal is always to meet kids where they are in an entertaining way that inspires active play and helps them unlock adventures, and Max & Maple and its new season are perfect vehicles for doing just that'
Season 2 features ten new episodes, with one launching every three weeks. In the 7-minute stories, Max and Maple – and their neighbor Thelma (a sometimes-nervous turtle) – go on imagination-explorations, play a game, or solve a problem with their little red wagon. The mischievous Wheelios bring a dose of comedy and hijinks to every adventure with the wagon, ensuring it’s always in tip-top shape and ready for fun. Every episode features a toe-tapping original song that helps kids stay engaged and reinforces the theme. The siblings work together to create amazing inventions (following in their Grandpa’s footsteps) or modify the wagon to turn it into a spaceship, a time travel machine, or an ice cream truck. They even pick up some new friends along the way!
'Max & Maple: The Can-Do Kids models intergenerational play through storytelling, showcasing the unbounded fun families can have when they spend time playing together outdoors,” said Miller. “We also know that kids are increasingly spending time on YouTube, so it was important for us to create a safe space for them, with quality content and positive messaging that sparks curiosity, wonder, and imagination-fueled play'.
In addition to Max & Maple: The Can-Do Kids, young viewers can “take a spin” with Radio Flyer Studios’ adorable animated Wheelios spin-off series of comedic shorts, also available on the Max & Maple YouTube channel. The cartoon shorts explore some of the silly shenanigans the Wheelios get into when they are not with Max and Maple. Other content includes Max & Maple’s Big Adventure Podcast, a series of longer-form original audio adventures featuring Max, Maple, and the rest of the gang, with new episodes on the way. There are also new music videos and character shorts coming down the pike.
The Max & Maple: The Can-Do Kids production team features top-tier kids’ content veterans, including Executive Producer & Head of Studio Carrie Miller (Adventure Time, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!, Bravest Warriors) and Executive Producer Deborah Frank (Arthur, Work It Out Wombats!). Among the world-class writing team are Head Writer Peter Hannan (CatDog creator, Let’s Go Luna!), Emmy nominee and Humanitas Prize winner Joe Ansolabehere (Recesscreator, Hey Arnold!, Rugrats), Emmy winner Liz Hara (Sesame Street, Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur); and Christie Insley (Ready, Jet, Go!, Dinosaur Train). Lead Character Designer is Annie Award-winner Taylor Krahenbuhl(The Bad Guys, The Garfield Movie) and the original songs and score were written by Emmy nominee Daniel Ingram(My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Strawberry Shortcake). Ross Norton (Blue’s Clues & You!, Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol) is Director. The series is animated by Combo Studio in Brazil. Max & Maple: The Can-Do Kids is produced by Radio Flyer Studios.
