SERIES MANIA 2025 unveils its selection, juries and guests

13-02-2025
Its strategic location between Brussels, Paris, London and Amsterdam has made Lille (France) and its festival SERIES MANIA the beating heart of the series industry.

At this morning's press conference in Lille, SERIES MANIA's Managing Director Laurence Herszberg and Artistic Director Frédéric Lavigne presented the next edition of the festival, following speeches by French representatives from the Haut-de-France Region, the City of Lille and the CNC.

A student jury will also award its Best Series.

A jury, made up of international press journalists, will award the French Competition prizes for Best Series, Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Original Score (in partnership with SACEM).

This year, key regions and countries include Northern Europe and Spain, alongside France as the most represented countries. As our world is shaken from all sides, the past feels more present than ever in series polarized between geopolitics -with the great comeback of political series - and intimacy.  2025 also brings a new reflection on masculinity, with characters whose certainties waver, pushing them to redefine themselves as (young) men. But the true protagonists of our 2025 lineup are heroines! These are bold, complex women—many of whom, like recent award-nominated actresses, exude a certain maturity.
