Sierra/Engine announces deals with ABC for distribution of The Black Box

11-06-2013
ABC has picked up The Black Box as a straight to series order. The 13-episode drama, that is to be sold internationally by Sierra/Engine Television, is scheduled to air in 2014 on the ABC Television Network.

The series is produced by independent film finance and production company Bold Films in its first foray into TV production, with Sierra/Engine handling worldwide distribution. This marks the first international package deal for WME, which reps Jones, Singer and Chaiken

Story written by Amy Holden Jones (Mystic Pizza, Indecent Proposal) and produced by Anne Thomopoulos (Rome, Borgia) Bryan Singer (X-Men, House), Ilene Chaiken and Oly Obst,  centers on Elizabeth Black, world renowned neuroscientist who appears to have it all but is constantly haunted by her own struggle with mental illness. And that is not the only secret she’s kept locked away from her family and her new fiancé.

The Black Box marks the fourth U.S. scripted series handled by Sierra/Engine Television since its launch in late 2012. Currently, Sierra/Engine is distributing and producing NBC's Siberia (Infinity Films) airing this summer, NBC's Crossbones, starring John Malkovich airing midseason 2014 and the Dolph Lundgren action syndicated series Rescue 3, scheduled for fall 2013.
