Vecima Unveils Breakthrough Fiber and Cable Access Innovations at SCTE TechExpo 2025

17-09-2025
Vecima Networks is set to make headlines at SCTE TechExpo 2025, taking place September 29 – October 1 in Washington, D.C. With live demonstrations and first-to-market technology, Vecima is showcasing how broadband service providers can seamlessly migrate to next-generation networks while protecting existing investments.

First-ever 50G-PON Migration with Investment Protection
At the heart of Vecima’s showcase is the world’s first 50G-PON migration solution, enabling simultaneous operation of 10G-EPON DPoE and 50G ITU PON on the same OLT port. This breakthrough allows broadband providers to scale beyond 10G capacity while ensuring existing subscriber investments remain future-ready.

The Entra SF-4X Remote OLT, the global market leader for four years running (Dell’Oro Group), anchors this demo. Vecima will also feature its Entra EXS1610 All-PON Shelf, supporting 10G-EPON, XGS-PON, Combo PON, and managed by Entra vPON Manager for streamlined configuration, monitoring, and analytics. Vecima’s Open Network Ecosystem ONE™ ensures providers can deploy best-in-class ONTs/ONUs without vendor lock-in.

DOCSIS 4.0: The Next Leap Forward
Visitors will also experience a live demo of the Entra vCMTS, a cloud-native platform driving the ERM422, the world’s first Dual Downstream Service Group DOCSIS 4.0 Remote PHY device (RPD). Showcased within the EN9000 GAP and EN8800U node platforms, this advancement doubles downstream capacity to deliver more than 20Gbps from a single RPD.

Built for scalability and efficiency, Entra vCMTS features a containerized architecture that reduces power, space, and cost while scaling dynamically for operators of all sizes. Earlier this year, Cox Communications selected Entra vCMTS to modernize its DOCSIS network, underscoring its market impact.
