eOne Television inks exclusive deal with The Cartel
Entertainment One anonnunced it inked an exclusive first-look deal with production and management company The Cartel to develop, produce and distribute scripted and unscripted television projects including series and MOWs.Under the terms of the pact, eOne will produce and handle worldwide distribution for all television projects.
Michael Rosenberg, eOne’s EVP US Scripted Television, said: ‘The Cartel brings a network of outstanding creative talent to eOne and opens the door to multi-platform partnerships and coproduction opportunities for both US and international audiences’.
The two companies have already put together an development slate including Company Men, Becoming Sherlock, Facing Demons, Blended and Terror Inc.
The Cartel and its subsidiaries (Cartel Pictures, Remember Dreaming Productions, and Pulser Productions) have been involved in producing eight films in the last three years, and are ramping up to a dozen films a year ranging from TV Movies (including Out of Reach, A Love Like Ours, The Town That Came A’Courtin) to independent features (The Wedding Pact, The Terror Experiment, Defending Santa).
eOne develops, produces, acquires, distributes programming across all genres including Hell on Wheels on AMC; Rookie Blue on ABC and Shaw; Discovery Channel’s first-ever scripted mini-series Klondike, co-produced by Discovery, eOne, and Nomadic Pictures in association with Scott Free Television. The group also handles distribution of AMC's The Walking Dead.
